Ro Fawr Farm Golden Grove in the Towy Valley |
|
Set in the idyllic surroundings of the beautiful Tywi Valley in West Wales, Ro-Fawr Farm offers peace, tranquillity and complete privacy and is the ideal place to relax and unwind. The views overlooking the River Tywi on all sides and the hills of Grongar, once an ancient fort and of which the poet John Dyer wrote in his poem ‘Grongar Hill’, are quite spectacular, as is the view in the distance of ‘Paxton’s Tower’ or as the locals call it ‘Paxton’s Folly’.
In season fishing is by arrangement as well as golf and riding. The area surrounding Ro-Fawr has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest and there is an abundance of wildlife in the area. Buzzards fly overhead and the Red Kite has found its way back here. Badgers and deer are frequently to be found as you drive through the woods and the swans nest on the river every year.
This part of Wales is steeped in history with three very ancient castles quite near and Dinefwr Castle was once the seat of the kings of Wales. The Lost Garden at Aberglasney is approximately one mile away and The National Botanic Garden of Wales is approximately five miles away.
Close by are the very pretty towns of Llandeilo and the market town of Carmarthen, which holds its markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays where you can buy some delicious Welsh cheese and hams - about 30 minutes to get to.
The coastlines of Gower and Pembrokeshire are very easily reached by car and Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived, is nearby. Although Ro-Fawr is quite secluded it takes only about twenty minutes to get to from the M4 Motorway.
There are thirteen acres surrounding RoFawr with lovely walks to the river. The cottages are beautifully converted and superbly furnished throughout with oil Central heating and log fires.
The three cottages together can accommodate up to ten people for Christmas and New Year or any other special celebration. What better way to celebrate the holiday in front of log fires with family or friends.
