Situated in the unspoilt Otter Valley in 130 acres of farmland on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, Otterfalls offers relaxation and tranquillity amid rolling hills and leafy woods. Open all year, the mild climate and stunning location make Otterfalls the perfect choice for summer holidays and for spring and autumn breaks. Only three hours from London, a centrally heated cottage or lodge, with log burner or open fire, is ideal for a winter ‘getaway’.
Otterfalls welcomes pets in many cottages and lodges and provides ‘off-the-lead’ walking areas. Only ten miles from the coast, the glorious beaches of East Devon are within easy driving distance. Horse riding is locally available and golf courses at Honiton, Seaton, Sidmouth and Woodbury. Sailing and sea fishing are available at Sidmouth and Beer.
Coarse fishing is available in our three lakes and rods and tackle may be hired on site.
The Finnish lodges, overlooking the fishing lakes, are comfortably furnished and ideal for those wishing to fish or watch the myriad wildlife attracted to the water. Our cottages are conversions from the farmhouse and original flintstone barns and retain many interesting features to add to their individual charm. The fully fitted kitchens are equipped to the highest standard, with electric oven/hob, microwave, refrigerator or fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle. Larger cottages and lodges have dishwashers and washing machines, some with tumble driers. Pretty bed linen complements the country-style furniture and for romantics, some have four poster beds. Utility usage is by meter reading.
The heated indoor pool, sauna, games room and table tennis room are open all the year round. Our nine hole putting course has stunning views across the Otter valley and racquets and balls can be hired for the all-weather tennis court.
The Tickled Trout Bar/Bistro is open from May to September either for an evening drink or a succulent meal. Other facilities include a guest launderette with coin-op washing machines and driers, a pay phone and a small shop for those forgotten essentials.
