Set in 22 acres of rolling Suffolk, Gladwins Farm offers quiet holidays with a difference. With nine cottages we can provide 5 star luxury for larger parties in Chelsworth or Wiston and intimate cottages in Medieval conversions for couples or families. Chelsworth, Wiston and Melford cottages all have their own private hot tubs and there's one for everyone else outside the swimming pool under its own gazebo. Constable cottage has now been rated 4* Gold Award by the English Tourism Council.
All cottages can connect to our WiFi system for a nominal charge.
All our cottage are now non-smoking, but most accept pets.
With lovely cottages in a superb location, Gladwins Farm is an ideal base for exploring Constable Country and East Anglia’s heritage villages. Our grounds connect to the footpath network and every cottage has a mounted Ordnance Survey map of the area.
Nayland, with probably the finest collection of medieval timber-framed houses in England, lies between Sudbury and Colchester with extensive views over the Stour Valley. We are only 45 minutes from the sea so the beach is easily within reach, but our heated indoor pool with its sauna is more convenient!
Our children’s playground and the farm animals will safely entertain the children whilst you enjoy the lovely views across the Dedham Vale, unless you are playing tennis on the all-weather court!
The grounds are full of wildlife – the fishing lake is a habitat for rare dragonflies – and there are a number of badger setts. Look out for the bats!
Deepest Suffolk is just an hour from London, Cambridge or Norwich, so you are not entirely cut off from civilisation. Colchester, England’s oldest recorded town with its history and convenient shopping is our nearest town, but the tranquil setting of Gladwins Farm allows you to walk in the countryside or relax in the grounds undisturbed. Dogs are welcome in some of the cottages if well behaved, at a small extra charge.
You are spoilt for choice of excellent restaurants in the area, ranging from homely country pubs to fine cuisine and delicious speciality seafood bistros.
